Are you an aspiring entrepreneur?
Have you always dreamed of starting your own business?
self-em·ploy·ment// [self-em-ploi-muhnt] noun : “the act of generating one’s income directly from customers, clients or other organizations as opposed to being an employee of a business.”
The Self-Employment Program has helped almost 1600 small and home based businesses start up and run successfully in the Central Kootenay region – businesses that enrich the owner’s lives and play a vital part in our rural economy, including: Mountain Sky Soaps in Crescent Valley, Sunnyside Naturals in Kaslo, Lee Orr photography in Nakusp, The Joy of Bookkeeping in Nelson, Castlegar Tailoring in Castlegar, and Kingfisher Used Books in Creston.
Through this program you will receive instruction and support while developing your business plan. You will also receive ongoing training, mentoring and business coaching while you start and run your business. And if you’re eligible you may also receive financial support for the duration of the program.
Community Futures has delivered the Self Employment program for almost three decades in the Central Kootenay Region. Businesses started through the Self Employment program have a higher success rate than the national average. You will be taught and guided by a team of business coaches and former entrepreneurs. They will provide you with their own real world experience and knowledge from assisting thousands of start-up entrepreneurs like you.
Here is what a former client had to say.
“I can’t say enough about the support that one receives when going through this program. It can be a dark lonely road starting and running a business. Community Futures was able to shine some light and help me through it. I learned more in this program than I did in my two years of college. I now help other business owners with bookkeeping, business planning, and even mentoring from the knowledge I was given. Without their support Neat would not exist and I would not have grown from a scared young woman to the confident business woman that I am today.” Jen Heale, Neat
