A FREE online seminar exploring how small businesses and food manufacturers can export agrifoods to the US pacific northwest will be offered as part of the Export Navigator initiative, supported by the Province of British Columbia.
The two-part event, Agrifood Exporting to the Pacific Northwest USA series, will be held on May 26 and June 1 from 9:30am PST via Zoom. The webinar, presented by Chris Legler of Axios Growth Consultants, will educate British Columbian food processors and producers on how to position their products to American customers and provide strategies with which to enter the market.
The event will also look at the challenges and opportunities of entering the US market, as well as how to increase brand and product visibility with distributors, agents and customers.

CEO and Founder, Chris Legler, brings a wealth of knowledge to the topic from his experience as CEO of Espresso Supply and as an executive at Starbucks Coffee, Sony, BP, Eddie Bauer, Barnie’s Coffee and Tea, Blockbuster Entertainment, Cranium, Hasbro and Restaurants Unlimited.
“Exporting to new markets can be challenging, but trends indicate that US consumers are increasingly seeking the kinds of produce and products British Columbia has to offer. There’s a tangible shift in consumer behaviour that favours these manufacturers, and now is the time to capitalize on this,” said Chris Legler.
Each session will cover a range of factors, with the first session covering topics such as the orientation of the US market, consumer demand and market opportunities, and specialty food in the US northwest. The second session will focus on the feasibility of selling across the border, logistics, price and market expectations, and packaging and labelling considerations.
This is Chris’s second time working with Export Navigator to bring British Columbian small business owners educational content on exporting products. Export Navigator is a business advisory organization that focuses on helping British Columbia businesses achieve their exporting potential.
