The Basin Business Advisors Program (BBA) supports and inspires entrepreneurship and builds economic capacity in Basin communities by strengthening and supporting existing businesses. They provide free, one-to-one, confidential business advisement and assessment services to commercialized, revenue producing businesses assisting in creating and sustaining jobs and/or bringing wealth into the Columbia Basin region. An Agriculture Specialist provides additional support to primary farm producers within the basin to help strengthen farm businesses.
The Basin Business Advisors also provide workshops including:
- Buying a Business: This workshop will cover the important factors to review when considering the purchase of a business including business valuation and the process to acquire the business.
- Succession Planning: This workshop will review the critical steps business owners should consider before transferring the business to a family member or outside buyer.
- Agriculture Succession Planning: This workshop will review the critical steps primary producers should consider before transitioning the farm to a family member or outside buyer.
- Agriculture Cost of Production: This workshop is aimed at helping primary producers develop tools and production costing skills for various crops and livestock production.
