Kootenay HR Network

Human resources can be one of the most rewarding roles in an organization. It can also be one of the most isolating. Whether you’re the only HR professional on your team, new to the profession, or new to the Kootenay Boundary, having a network of peers to learn from and connect with can make all the difference.

That’s the idea behind the Kootenay HR Network.

The Network brings together HR professionals from across the Kootenay and Boundary regions who want to connect, share experiences, and learn from one another. It is a space for thoughtful discussion, practical problem-solving, and professional connection.

For some members, the value comes from hearing how others are approaching a workplace issue. For others, it’s the opportunity to build relationships with people who understand the realities of HR work. And for those who are new to the profession—or new to the region—the Network offers a chance to build connections and become part of a supportive professional community.

The Network welcomes HR professionals from organizations of all sizes and sectors. Conversations are shaped by the interests and experiences of participants, making each gathering an opportunity to gain new perspectives from colleagues across the Kootenay Boundary.

Meetings are held both in-person and virtually throughout the year and provide opportunities to stay connected, learn from peers, and participate in conversations that matter to people leaders in the Kootenay Boundary.

If you’re looking to expand your professional network or connect with other HR practitioners in the region, we’d love to have you join us.

About the HR Network

The HR Network was established through the West Kootenay Recruitment Agency Pilot as a way to strengthen regional collaboration among human resources professionals. Following strong interest and participation from employers across the region, meetings have been scheduled through 2026 to support ongoing knowledge sharing, professional development, and workforce collaboration.
