HR Network

A regional space for HR collaboration

The West Kootenay Recruitment Agency Pilot helped establish a regional HR Network to connect human resource professionals across the Kootenay and Boundary regions.

The Network provides a space for HR leaders to share knowledge, strengthen best practices, and collaborate on workforce challenges facing local employers. It was launched during the pilot with ongoing quarterly meetings scheduled through 2026, supporting long-term regional capacity in recruitment, retention, and people development.

Workforce supports for childcare providers

The Kootenay Childcare Initiative supports childcare providers by helping address one of the sector’s biggest challenges: recruiting and retaining qualified Early Childhood Educators.

Through regional partnerships and targeted workforce solutions, the Initiative works to strengthen staffing capacity, connect centres with recruitment supports, and improve long-term sustainability for childcare services across the Kootenays.
